My Story

I cooked up the idea for Cupcake Accessories after moving to Southern New Hampshire from Richmond, Virginia, in 2003. While working on a home decorating project, I whipped up a fun little fabric handbag that garnered instant attention and had many asking, “Where did you get that bag?” I next donated a handbag to an auction for my 15th-year high school reunion and immediately received orders from pals up and down the East Coast. Cupcake Accessories was born and I haven’t left my sewing machine since.
With an eye for details and a design sensibility honed during a 10-year career as a journalist covering fashion, home décor and the arts, I aim to create fun, affordable accessories that will stand out in a crowd. I design my handbags and accessories to inject a sense of fun into women’s everyday lives. My designs are influenced by the most current trends but are not dictated by them. Personal style and creativity are paramount. And by “baking your own cupcake” you too can play to your own muse.
